Below you will find answers to many common questions about UB Giving Day 2021.

What is UB Giving Day?

UB Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising event scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 at noon (EST) to Wednesday, April 27 at noon (EST). Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of UB are welcome and encouraged to participate. The goal is to engage our community to advance the mission of the university while raising critical funding to ensure we continue to build upon our foundations to provide big opportunities for our students.

When is UB Giving Day?

UB Giving Day will take place April 26 at noon (EST) to April 27 at noon (EST). UB Giving Day is a single, high-energy, high-excitement 24-hour period when UB alumni, students, parents, staff, faculty and friends from around the world unite for one common cause: the University at Buffalo. 

Why should I participate in Giving Day?

Your support provides the ongoing resources that are critical to our students. By investing in UB, you will provide more scholarships and enhance the UB experience for the next generation of leaders.

How can I participate?

Anyone can get involved with UB Giving Day! Simply by donating, you will make an impact. Also, post about UB Giving Day on social media using #UBGivingDay.

How can I donate?

Donating is easy! You can make a gift to support the UB Fund, which is dedicated to supporting the student experience, or to the program of your choice. You may also make a gift to more than one area in the same transaction!

What if I don't see my preferred area to designate my gift?

Under the fund designation, select "other" and enter the name of the fund where you would like your gift to be designated. If you have questions, email annualgiving@buffalo.edu or call 1-855-GIVE-2-UB

If my employer matches charitable gifts, can my gift be matched?

When you make your gift you could also earn matching funds from your employer to increase your impact. You must indicate this on the giving form while making your donation.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

You can make a gift a $1 or more to participate in UB Giving Day

Is my gift tax deductible?

All gifts made on UB Giving Day are donations to the University. Your gift will be acknowledged with an email or printed receipt for your tax records.

What is the refund policy?

Charitable gifts to UB Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, are not refundable. 

Is it safe to make a  gift online?

When you make an online gift to UB, gifts are processed through a third-party secure payment processing vendor. The information you provide when you make a gift will be used only by UB and UB Foundation, Inc. for the purpose of correctly allocating, crediting and acknowledging your gift. The charge on your credit card statement will appear from the University a Buffalo Foundation, Inc.

What does the asterisk mean on a challenge  description?

This indicates that the funds raised will go to an endowment fund and this gift intention is to support an endowment fund, unless otherwise restricted by the gift instrument pursuant to paragraph (b) of Section 553 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law, the institution may expend so much of the endowment fund as it deems prudent after considering the factors set forth in paragraph (a) of Section 553 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.
