University Libraries

UB Libraries play an integral role in the University at Buffalo’s ambitious goal to become one of the nation’s top-25 research institutions. As a dynamic incubator of learning and research, we focus on making knowledge more accessible to our students, Buffalo and the world.

With three campuses, six libraries and a robust off-campus repository, UB Libraries are the center of our university community, providing an exceptional array of information resources, technologies and services. UB students and faculty rely on the expertise of our librarians and staff to navigate today’s overwhelming information landscape and discover effective new tools that can be used to solve society’s complex challenges. UB Libraries infuses the academic enterprise of the University at Buffalo with a critical source of knowledge, engagement and energy.

Your support helps UB Libraries – as the heart of the campus – beat even stronger.

UB Libraries has two Giving Day Challenges:

James Joyce Museum

Pride. Prestige. Profound. All words to describe the UB Libraries James Joyce Collection. And soon we’ll add one more: Public.

Just in time for UB Giving Day and the 2022 centenary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses, UB Libraries has been selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for a challenge grant to help design the James Joyce Museum on the South Campus! Help us create a public space for a global audience to discover and experience the greatest collection of Joyce materials in the world.  And with your support today, we’ll be even closer to making this vision a reality—all Giving Day gifts in support of the James Joyce Museum will go towards the NEH Challenge grant.

University Libraries Student Employee Award

Student employees of UB Libraries play an instrumental role in fulfilling our mission to enrich the research, learning, teaching and creative activities of the UB community and beyond.

UB Libraries Vice Provost Evviva Lajoie believes so much in this experiential learning and student employment opportunity that she established an award to support outstanding students who work in the UB Libraries.  Evviva also put forth an additional $2,500 UB Giving Day match to inspire others to enhance this fund.

In addition to these two opportunities, please consider supporting the other many important areas of UB Libraries.  Thank you for showing your love for UB Libraries on Giving Day!
