School of Architecture and Planning

Architecture students touring Labatt Brew House for their fieldwork.

We are proud to be one of only a handful of schools where architecture and planning work purposefully together. Creating greener, cleaner, healthier places to live and work. Innovating materials and construction systems for a more sustainable built environment. Planning communities that promote safe and healthy food and water. With your help, we are leading the way for a better, smarter, healthier, more efficient and equitable world.

Student presentation for the project Urban Design Connecting Buffalo happened in December 2022 in Hayes Hall"Housing affordability … the future of work … innovations in design and construction … the effects of rapid technological changes on the built environment … the need to build healthy and equitable communities …

These are challenges that call for real estate professionals who can work across disciplines and professions, who are fluent in architecture, planning, and finance, and who have the skills to devise creative solutions to new challenges and changing demands.  UB’s growing MS in Real Estate Development delivers this multidisciplinary learning, and its students are inspired to “imagine a better world, then build it.”  Our graduates are making an impact, and are leading lives of consequence.

We are pleased to join with others in continuing to support how the real estate development program makes it more feasible for students to attend UB, adds to the richness of their experience through scholarships, funding attendance at conferences and the costs of acquiring specialized credentials, and makes other enhancements that provide an outstanding educational ROI".
