School of Social Work

For more than 90 years, the UB School of Social Work has been preparing social workers who transform lives, advocate for change, and lead with integrity. Through interdisciplinary research, our faculty make critical discoveries and propose solutions to pressing social challenges. Meanwhile, our students and alumni enhance social work practice and make a positive difference in our local and global communities.

Since 1934, we’ve built an impressive reputation as one of the best schools of social work in the nation — and now, with your support, we’re aiming even higher. Your gift will help us continue to empower our students, provide life-changing experiences — and, ultimately, fulfill our mission of building a better society for all.

School of Social Work Students Helping Students Fund:
Established in 2013, this fund was created for current students to assist other social work students who might need a hand themselves — and our social work students stepped up! This fund helps students through emergencies that might otherwise disrupt their progress in the MSW program. If you want to make sure the fund will always have resources to cover the needs, you can pitch in. You don’t have to be a student, you just have to care!

Social Work Graduate Scholarship Fund:
When you give to this fund, you help support top graduate students within the School of Social Work. Scholarships play a critical role in helping UB attract and retain leading social work students, and donor support often makes the difference in a student choosing UB.
